ScaleConf T-shirt Graphics

This was a t-shirt graphic I designed for ScaleConf 2014, a programming conference on the art of scaling programming architecture. The concept of "technical" drawings or robots of increasing size on aset of axes was given, and I simply designed each robot and the overall layout. I thought the ScaleConf logo made a nice turbine, and broke it up into smaller elements for the first three robots. The group therefore echoes the increments of digital data types from bits to words. There was, at one point, the idea of putting names on the x-axis, and I would thus have called the robots BitBot, NybleBot, ByteBot, and WordBot respectively.

I first sketched and scaled each robot in InkScape, then exported the combined rough draft to DraftSight to use its technical options, like precise tangents, mirroring, offsets, etc. and finally re-imported into Inkscape for the colouring, axes, text, etc.
